3152 Annoyed again

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

"The world is supposed to be full of possibilities, but they narrow down to pretty few, in most personal experience. There's lots of good fish in the sea-maybe! But the vast masses seem to be mackerel or herring, and if you're not mackerel or herring yourself, you are inclined to find very few good fish in the sea."

I am annoyed that the same people who are busily getting anti-Sharia laws onto the state election ballots see no contradiction in getting Christian-based initiatives onto the same ballots.

At least Sharia law applies only to Muslims.

You cannot compare the two. How about the 13 year old rape victim that was stoned to death in Somalia under sharia law. That makes gay marriage look like a non issue. The muslims would love to bring sharia to everyone in the US including Christians and if the politicians and powers that be are muslim that could very well happen overnight.

A response to the above comment is an entire essay. Basically, in order for the last sentence to happen, we would have to throw out the Constitution, or at least the Bill of Rights. What people who want to bring Christian opinion into law don't realize is that they are doing exactly that. Slippery slope.

Plus, there's a difference between civil Sharia and stupid "Sharia", and a difference between a group choosing to be bound by certain laws (Hasidim? Mormons? Christians?) and forcing them on members not of that group.

You can't use a example like the raped child unless you are also willing to use examples of Christians killing people to "save" them.

I am also amused by the way Christians pick and choose from the Old Testament as to what laws they like. And the way super-Jews have ignored the spirit of the laws and through hair-splitting have distorted them beyond recognition.

"Amused", by the way, is used sarcastically.
