Conundrum:
A donkey at an Algerian market ate the money of the man who came to buy him. The buyer and seller bargained too long, and neither noticed that the donkey was eating the stack of banknotes set to the side. The unfortunate buyer and the seller wonder who the animal now belongs to. Neither the city court nor the district court was able to make a ruling that would satisfy both parties, so the case was passed on to the Algerian Supreme Court.
This case happened in late 2007, and for three years I've been occasionally Googling "Algerian donkey ate money" trying to find out what the final disposition was. Nothing found since the original article.
I think it's interesting that the courts tried to find a ruling that would "satisfy both parties". You won't find that consideration around here! Calling Uncle Solomon....
