A few months ago (last summer?) I happened to be stopped at an intersection when the Google Maps car went by.
If you go to https://www.google.com/maps/place/919+N+Concourse/@40.445829,-74.213752,3a,15y,318.04h,78.26t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sROo6PdNZcJUFKafqRsJglA!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x89c234b38a33c909:0x3f9818f443aaac80 (I hope that link works for you) you'll see a little black convertible (Hal) with a little old lady inside (me).
If the link doesn't work, go to maps.google.com, ask for 919 N. Concourse, Keyport, NJ, pick up the little man (street view) and move him to the nearest intersection, drag the screen to face him the right direction, zoom in, and with luck, we'll be there.
I'm almost sorry I wasn't doing something embarrassing.

How absolutely cool! What happened with the screaming meemies (i.e., smoke detectors)?
Kris
I saw a google car go by and it never occurred to me that I might be in a photo.
Kris - Turned my daughter, the electrical engineer, loose on it. Turns out you have to hold the test button for a long time, like 30 seconds.
Queen - Might? Probably! Do you remember where? You have to look around a bit in that vicinity, because it's very time-dependent, especially at intersections.
Much later - well, it's gone now. They redid the street, I guess.
